Donnerwetter celebrates 2018 with Spontana Fontana Tour

2018 is going to be the year that Donnerwetter, the best kept secret of the Dutch rock scene, is going to conquer Europe with a brand new project. EUROPAMINE, the name of that intriguing concept, consists of recordings in 6 different countries, with 6 different producers in 6 different studios throughout the continent. What will be the result? Something else, and something very unique, just like the band itself. You will get the chance to hear these songs during the2018 Spontana Fontana Tour.

Staf Verbeeck is the first producer to welcome Donnerwetter in his studio. Music aficionados will recognize Verbeeck’s name from his work for Chvrches, Royal Blood, Fleet Foxes, Mercury Rev, Opeth, Triggerfinger, Seasick Steve, Franz Ferdinand, Moby, and many more international renowned artists. The tracks with Verbeeck are only the beginning: the band is about to head to Berlin for the next recordings, and more show and festival dates are about to be confirmed. But that is not all! Keep an eye on March, when Donnerwetter will present their next single in the famous venue Paradiso. But most important, please save May 19 in your calendar, because this is the day that the full Europamine EP will be released during the third edition of Donnerwetter Day. It is the band’s homage to Bacchus, the Greek god of wine and intoxication. A festival of arts, drinks, and food where artists, musicians, and fans can come together to celebrate Donnerwetter, creative collaborations, and the finer things in life.

Donnerwetter plays psychedelic roots with the menace of punk. The Dutch quartet navigates between danceable film music, the grooving primal urge of garage bands and dark romantic moods. It is clearly not death but life itself snapping at their heels. The intense live shows sound as if Wilco, MGMT, White Denim, The Cramps and Grizzly Bear together climbed on stage and captured Nick Cave as a ravishing front man.
