Hooverphonic became fifth in virtual ‘Eurostream 2020’

Last weekend Eurovision fans & websites from around the globe joined forces to organise their own finals of this year’s music competition. The show was live streamed on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, et cetera on Saturday night May 9. After two previous semi-finals that were held last week, both professionals (50% of the votes) and online audience (the remaining 50%) were able to vote for the bands. Iceland won the online edition, but Hooverphonic became fifth and what's more: they ended up in second place in the televoting! The jury voted them on the ninth position. More Eurovision activity will follow this week: online, on radio, in the written press, et cetera. Next Saturday – the day the Eurovision Song Contest would have taken place - there will be an alternative TV show organized by the EBU, broadcast both on één & RTBF 'Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light'. The two-hour show will feature all 41 entries that were due to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, including Belgium’s Hooverphonic with ‘Release Me’.

All combined, ‘Release Me’ has accumulated over 4 million global streams!
