"We play complex music, but we want it to be accessible and immediate. Through artists like David Bowie, Odd Future and Portishead, we realised that a song can be strange, and highly experimental, but still have popular appeal. So that's exactly what we wanted to do with this album, bring something alien to work that's essentially pop".
