Today, lots of hands present their new single, “masquerade,” from their forthcoming Fire Talk debut, into a pretty room, out January 17th, and announce 2025 headlining UK tour dates in support of the record. With performances in the duo’s current base of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, plus stops in London and Leeds, lots of hands’ newly announced shows will see them debut a full-band iteration of into a pretty room, whose advance singles received praise from Pitchfork, BBC 6, No Expectations and more. Following those headlining dates, lots of hands will perform a run of UK shows supporting crywank. A full list of tour dates are below, and tickets are on sale now.
into a pretty room arrives after years of remote collaboration between the core duo of Billy Woodhouse and Elliot Dryden, and marks lots of hands’ first truly collaborative record. New single “masquerade” is at once jaded and joyful. “masquerade” sees Dryden return to the pen, interrogating political theater through electronic-speckled indie folk. “They’re always droning bullshit,” Dryden sings through layers of filtered vocals and spacious instrumentation. “Do you see through?”

Crafted between pints of beer and rounds of Fortnite, into a pretty room occupies the space between moments of tragedy and triumph. The result is the duo’s most thoughtful work to-date, offering a touching rumination on grief and loss, growing up and letting go. A collage of reworked demos, freewheeling session standouts, and swatches of instrumental electronics, into a pretty room exists in the tear-stained early mornings of adolescence, just as the sun makes its first appearance over the horizon and thoughts of the night before begin to subside.
The 14 tracks on into a pretty room were written, recorded, and reworked in Woodhouse’s bedroom studio, with Dryden often trekking the vast northern English countryside for the duo’s first-ever joint sessions. The songs span from Hank Willians-inspired odes, explosive anthems, and touching ambient compositions. Eclectic and confident, into a pretty room aches with loss and settles into sparkling sonics that propel the record on its trajectory of self-discover and acceptance. Conceived across painful moments of growth and grief, into a pretty room is a decidedly hopeful effort, anchored by the duo’s friendship.
