Loupe shares new single 'Lonely Dance'
Loupe's single Lonely Dance is the first track from the band's debut album. Pop is slowly taking over from indie in Loupe's indie pop. This is partly due to the glowing production of Arne - Styrofoam - Van Petegem. In Lonely Dance, singer Julia sings about building your life, searching for your own path and all the mirrors that are held up in the process. It is a road you have to travel alone, which is a great feeling but can also be lonely from time to time.
Indie pop band Loupe has had a busy summer with many shows. Their season began at Noorderslag 2022 and concluded with an invitation to Eurosonic 2023. Loupe thrives on stage with a strong live set full of quirky guitar riffs and poppy vocal lines in which singer Julia talks about her path through life.
But also in the studio, the band flourishes. The two EPs, Older and Spring '19, the band released flooded the listener with smooth grooves interspersed with stripped-down fragile moments. Influences from the likes of Julia Jacklin, Kruangbin and The Breeders, among others, seem to come together tastefully in Loupe's music in all their diversity. The debut album, of which Lonely Dance is a preview, will be released spring next year.
