Melanie De Biasio wins 'Track-of-the-year' at Gilles Peterson's 2017's worldwide awards

Singer and multi-instrumemtalist, Melanie De Biasio was heralded for her Blackened Cities track at the weekend in London when she was the recipient of the Track of the Year at this year’s Worldwide Awards.

Blackened Cities, a twenty-eight minute track released through Play It Again Sam / Le Label last year followed her much lauded debut No Deal and saw her win through in a catergory voted for by the public which included nominations from the likes of Solange, Kaytranada and Frank Ocean amongst others.

The now annual event, hosted by renowned DJ and label head Gilles Peterson sees an array of musical artists drawn from a diverse musical spectrum representing various genres from around the world. Presented with the award by Peterson at a packed London’s Koko at the weekend it kicks of a year which should see new works from De Biasio alongside various European live dates.
