Mister Joshooa Debuts on Carl Craig’s Planet E Communications with 'Settle Down' EP

Detroit DJ, producer, and sound engineer Mister Joshooa makes his debut on Carl Craig’s legendary Planet E Communications with the Settle Down EP.

Comprising four raw, psychedelic cuts, Settle Down channels the spirit of Detroit’s underground, showcasing Mister Joshooa’s lucid, far-out take on house music. A fixture behind the decks at local institutions like TV Lounge and Lincoln Factory, Joshooa brings deep roots and a singular perspective to the release—his first solo outing on Planet E, following a previous appearance on Carl Craig’s Detroit Love Vol. 2 compilation.

Opening cut “Settle Down” is a rolling, rubbery jam built around a hypnotic bassline, vibrant live percussion, and warped vocals—pure late-night energy. “Snake Oil” strips things back to a tunneling groove, delivering a deep, psychedelic floor tool that glimmers with understated power. On the flip, “Stop Me” drifts into stranger territory with eerie melodies, oddball FX, and a woozy swing while “Step Up” delivers the rawest punch—crunchy drum machines, dark synth swells, and mutant techno textures..
