Regrowth: new single and video “Downpour” anticipate the upcoming album A Story Worth Listening To

With the release of their new single and video “Downpour”, Regrowth open a brand new chapter in their story. The metalcore/melodic-hardcore band from Cagliari presents the first single off their upcoming second album, A Story Worth Listening To (out on November 28th): an intense, reflective work deeply connected to the contemporary world.

Downpour” is a journey into awareness and the acceptance of misfortune as an integral part of existence. The song was born from the need to give voice to an imaginary entity, one that came into being in adverse circumstances, forced to live with its condition and, over time, find ways and strength to grow and face life.

In a historical moment where hardship seems to be a shared trait of an entire generation, Regrowth feel the need to tell — through their music — the sensation of having been born into a wounded world, already in decline, yet not devoid of awareness and hope.

“Misfortune is one of the key components that has shaped our generation and the way we live and react to the world around us,” says the band.

The video for “Downpour”, directed and produced by Marco Camarda and Paolo Angelo Loi, and starring Gianfranco Collu and Sonia Puggioni, represents the first chapter of a conceptual journey that will continue with a second video. Set in a dystopian world where technology dominates nature, it tells the story of a person who, by retreating into a video game, relives a past era — more genuine and connected to nature. Through a symbolic “quest”, the protagonist embarks on a path of rediscovery that ultimately brings them back to reality with a renewed sense of awareness.

The single was produced, recorded and mixed by Lorenzo Mariani at Overcore Studio, and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege Studio (USA).

Formed in 2016 in Cagliari, Italy, Regrowth have established themselves as one of the most interesting acts in the Italian metalcore/melodic-hardcore scene. After some early lineup changes, they released their debut EP This Time I’m No Longer Alone in 2018, followed by the single Wilt (2020) and the split Fast Music For Sad People with Quercia and Riflesso — a slogan that has since become the band’s manifesto.

Their first full-length album, Lungs (2020), further solidified their raw and emotional approach. In 2023 they released the EP Insecurities & Uncertainties and the singles Fragment, Cover Me With Flames, and Against Me, followed by an Italian tour and an 11-date European tour that culminated with a performance at Venezia Hardcore Fest. In 2024, the band took their sound overseas, playing several shows in Florida and performing at the renowned The Fest in Gainesville (USA).

With “Downpour”, Regrowth open a new chapter in their artistic path: a conceptual, sonic, and visual journey that will unfold all the way to the release of their upcoming album, A Story Worth Listening To.
