We Fog | The new single by the Italian noise-rock band tells a love story taken to its extreme consequences

On Friday, September 13th, 2024, Kind Warrior, the new single by the post-rock/noise band We Fog from Verona, will be released on major digital platforms and stores. It is the second preview of their upcoming album Sequence, set for release on October 11th.

‹‹ The inspiration comes, ›› said We Fog, ‹‹ from Werner Herzog's documentary *Grizzly Man*, which tells the story of an ethologist who loves bears so much that he leaves everything behind to live with them and protect them. But, ironically, he ends up being killed by one of them. The song depicts an urban love story, where someone gives everything to protect their partner, swearing to be strong for both, but ultimately dies, killed by their love. ››

Musically, the track stands out from the previous single Rise To The Sky, released last May 24, due to the prominent role of drummer Giulio Corradi’s vocals, while guitarist Donato Fusco normally leads the compositions. The combination of this choice with a marked bassline by Victor Bittencourt transposes onto the lyrics—the true collector of the song’s emotional tension—part of the abrasive impact the band is known for, allowing the more reflective and disillusioned side of the group to emerge.

The excellent Amaury Cambuzat (Ulan Bator, Faust, I Feel Like A Bombed Cathedral, etc.) is on the production of Kind Warrior and the entire band’s second album Sequence

We Fog was born in 2015 in Verona, Italy, from the meeting of Donato Fusco (vocals and guitar), Giulio Corradi (drums), and Victor Bittencourt (bass). The band has been inspired by the international noise, post, and math rock scene of the 1990s. The first album, Float, was self-released in 2017 and consists of very compact and introspective tracks on the tracks of a dreamy minimalism. Sequence is the title of the second album, released in 2024, and marks a turning point in the band's stylistic exploration, proposing rougher and more energetic sounds.
