Brand new for the 26th edition of the festival: Le Terril, an art zone in the heart of Dour Festival will be open from the Wednesday evening of the festival to all campers!
A few months ago, we launched a call for associations to submit ideas for how to use the space around Le Terril, a new space that we are opening this year atop the Machine à Feu. We received 120 submissions for ambitious, original, and eccentric projects, way surpassing our expectations and confirming our impression that Dour really is a unique space that our festival-goers themselves help to sculpt.
The eight selected projects
The Albalianza collective will be responsible for opening this new space on the Wednesday evening with their unique soundsystem, mixing a multitude of difference influences, from dub to experimental electronica. On the other days, we will be inviting you to spend the day surrounded by the four elements: there will be a number of sensory activities based on the themes of earth, wind, fire and water. That means relaxing on a huge terrace with tea rooms and a hairdresser, rediscovering urbanism with a day influenced by the culture of hip-hop, or spending a night filled with light and sounds around the town of Caen.
Le Terril will take on a whole new life from the renown it once gave to the region.
Le Terril will be open from Wednesday evening at 6pm for campers - another good way to spend time together. From Thursday to Saturday, the zone will be open between 3pm and 3am.
