Birdy: Nieuw album 'Beautiful Lies' verschijnt op 25 maart

Nog maar 19 jaar is ze, maar ondertussen heeft Birdy al een mooi palmares op haar naam staan: Best International Winner (Echo Awards 2013), Best International Female Winner (Principales 2014), en Brit Award Nominee. Mocht dat samen nog niet genoeg zijn, brengt Birdy nu ook haar derde studioalbum uit: ‘Beautiful Lies’. Daarmee bewijst ze opnieuw hoe veelzijdig ze is.

Birdy schreef al succesverhalen dankzij haar debuutalbum “Birdy” (2011) en haar tweede album “Fire Within” (2013) waar ze meer dan 2,5 miljoen albums van verkocht en 7 miljoen singles. Zowel haar debuutplaat als de opvolger “ Fire Within” domineerden ook in België de charts. Het nieuwe album ‘Beautiful Lies’ bevat 14 tracks waaronder ook haar nieuwe single ‘Keeping Your Head Up’. Die single werd meteen gekozen door BBC om te spelen net na hun nieuwjaarsshow.

Voor Birdy is dit nieuw album een volgende stap in haar muzikale carrière: “This is my coming of age record. I’ve learned so much in the last few years and have been able to use the many experiences – good and bad - as inspiration when writing this album. This is the album that I’ve been able to steer most confidently and proudly, from the writing to the production to the artwork. A lot of the album is about finding light in the dark and overcoming the times when we feel completely lost.”

De afgelopen jaren heeft Birdy de luxe gehad om met verschillende, getalenteerde artiesten samen te werken. Zo werd het album geproducet door onder andere Jim Abbis (Arctic Monkeys/Adele) en Craig Silvey (Arcade Fire/Florence and the machine).

Birdy’s muziek wordt ook vaak gebruikt in films zoals ‘The Hunger Games’, ‘Brave’ en ‘The Fault In Our Stars’. Ondertussen heeft Birdy meer dan 2,5 miljoen Facebookvolgers, 1 miljoen volgers op Spotify en meer dan 1 miljoen YouTube-abonnees waar ze over de 360 miljoen views behaald.
