Nieuw album Novembre, URSA, uit op 1 april

Het is een tijd stil geweest rond het Italiaanse Novembre. Na de release van The Blue in 2007 en daaropvolgend het vertrek van Giuseppe Orlando werd de band in de ijskast gezet. Negen jaar bezinning was voldoende voor oprichter en songschrijver Carmelo Orlando. Tijd voor een nieuw album vol melancholische en intense tracks, typerend voor de unieke death & doom metal waar Novembre bekend om staat.

Massimiliano Pagliuso is de muzikale partner van Carmelo Orlando, waarna de line-up compleet gemaakt wordt met Fabio Fraschini (voorheen al bassist op Materia) en David Folchitto op de drums. Een bekende labelgenoot, Anders Nyström van Katatonia, is als gastzanger te horen op het nummer Annoluce.

URSA is opgenomen in de Blue Noise Studio en PlayRec Studio door Massimiliano Pagliuso. De mix en mastering van het album is bij de Unisound Studios gedaan door Dan Swanö (Opeth, Katatonia, Bloodbath). Het coverart is van de hand van Travis Smith.

Novembre zal gaan touren in 2016. Distributie Benelux door Suburban Distribution.

Carmelo Orlando over URSA: ”This album is a very important step in my life. It got me closer to what some may call ‘maturity’. I’ve been able to delve even deeper into the chasm of the subconscious and unearth gems I didn’t think existed. Lyrically and conceptually I explored new shores. I moved my ever-inwards headlights, and for the first time I dared to point them outwards, against the squalor of this Orwellian apocalypse we’re committing towards the Earth and its sons, on a daily basis, in quasi-total indifference. The album is indeed called URSA (the acronym for “Union des Républiques Socialistes Animales”), which was the title initially chosen for the French translation of George Orwell’s masterpiece novel ‘Animal Farm’.”
