The Georgia Thunderbolts releasen nieuwe track 'It's Alright'!
The Georgia Thunderbolts hebben net de nieuwe track ‘It’s Alright’ uitgebracht, de vierde single van hun aankomende debuutalbum ‘Can We Get A Witness’, uit op 15 oktober via Mascot Records/ Mascot Label Group (vinyl op 26 november). “"It's Alright’ is about everyday life,” legt vocalist TJ Lyle uit. "You have ups and downs, whether it's with relationships or friendships. The point is that there will always be better days ahead, and the sun has got to shine at some point."
Behorend bij een nieuwe generatie van classic rock doordrenkt in soul en blues, is de band al ‘timeless’ genoemd door American Songwriter, “your new favorite southern rock band” door Classic Rock, en het bewijs dat “southern rock continues to thrive in the 21st century” door Rolling Stone. “We’re going for that timeless and classic sound with a modern twist and newer attitude,” zegt TJ. “We all grew up on rock music,” aldus guitarist Riley Couzzourt. “If I could think of three words to describe us, they would be ‘Hardworking, Determined, and Humble.’” Drummer Bristol Perry voegt daar grinnikend aan toe, “If I could think of three words, they would be ‘Rock And Roll.’”
Of het nu aan de oevers van de Mississippi is, of diep in het hart van het Engelse landschap, rock ‘n’ roll leeft, ademt, en brandt door tot buiten de grenzen. The Georgia Thunderbolts, uit Rome, Georgia, aan de voet van de Appalachen, presenteren zich met een vurige eigen stijl, vol met branie, blues, en vuige rock. De inspiratie van de band varieert van southern gospel en Hank Williams tot Neil Young, Little Feat, Ozzy Osbourne en Lynyrd Skynyrd, en ze deden live-ervaring op door te spelen met Black Stone Cherry, The Kentucky Headhunters en Blackberry Smoke.
Kort hierna betraden zij de iconische Barrick Recording Studio in Glasgow, KY om op te nemen met producer Richard Young.
Dit resulteerde in een album samengesteld uit dertien tracks met een kenmerkende sound doordrenkt van grote riffs, mondharmonica en pulserende drums. Van de bluesy blend in “So You Wanna Change The World,” tot “the first song we ever wrote,” het dynamische “Looking For An Old Friend”. De Georgia Thunderbolts luiden een nieuw tijdperk van rock-'n-roll in, geïnspireerd door hun geschiedenis in Rome, een stad met een diepe landbouwgeschiedenis. Dus als ze 'Spirit of A Workin' Man' zingen, kun je maar beter geloven dat ze het menen. "It's got a deep lesson to it. You can't knock down the little man," zegt TJ.
“There's a message to what we're doing," verteld Bristol. "It's okay to be yourself. If you're going through hard times, the music will always be there. We'd love to remind everyone of that.” “Rock and roll is something that comes naturally for us,” concluderen Riley, Zach en Logan. “We love it and are in it for the long haul. We feel like we can bring it back.”
