Paulette Verlée | EP "Live @ Piano Day" out this Friday

March 28th is Piano Day. Not coincidentally, it falls on the 88th day of the year, just like the number of keys on a piano. The day was established by composer Nils Frahm and is now celebrated worldwide. Since 2015, various special piano concerts have been organized around this date, and numerous radio programs, podcasts, and playlists are dedicated to the instrument.

This year, Paulette Verlée was the central guest at Piano Day in CC Het Bolwerk in Vilvoorde. Her show ‘Les Barricades Mystérieuses,’ complemented by ‘reworks’ from her latest album, is a delight for both eyes and ears. Alongside Paulette and her keyboards, we see Maaike Organe on cello with impressive footwork on the loop station, conjuring up an entire string orchestra, while abstract images are projected on a backdrop of light pillars behind them.
