LȲKAA (Ger) releases their debut album Light Eater

Emerging from Saxony, Germany, LȲKAA channel slow, heavy metal, dark atmospheres and subtle post-punk influences into a sound steeped in grief, rage and emotional intensity. Formed in 2020 by Elly Preussner (vocals), Johannes Werner (guitars, keyboards, vocals) and Rasmus Korn (guitars), the band completed its lineup in 2022 with Đenan Muratagić (bass) and Johannes Ivandic (drums), later welcoming Christoph Weilbach behind the kit.

Their debut album, LIGHT EATER, explores the inner demons, fears and oppressive forces that drain us of hope, alongside the instinctive drive toward birth, growth and renewal. Lyrically confronting patriarchal structures, isolation, disillusionment and resistance, the record balances darkness with an underlying affirmation of life. At its core lies Elly Preussner’s distinctive, theatrical vocal delivery, lending recognizable melodies an unconventional, haunting character, with echoes of the dark, occult-tinged sensibility of The Devil’s Blood. Towering, delay-soaked guitars and a dense, atmospheric foundation complete this deeply personal statement, mixed and mastered by Joshua Steinweg (Decaptacon) and Kerem Yilmaz (Imha Tarikat, The Night Eternal).
