alt-J today announce the launch of a groundbreaking new app allowing fans the unique opportunity to stream their forthcoming new album, This is All Yours, weeks ahead of mainstream release in carefully selected worldwide locations chosen by the band via their handsets.

From today, fans can download the This Is All Yours app, powered by BLAST technology, from Google Play (for Android) or the Apple App Store (for iOS). The album will begin streaming via the app on Saturday 6 September in specific worldwide locations. You will be able to see where your nearest streaming location is and the app will notify you of new areas as they are added. Locations can also be viewed online at altjband.com/map.

alt-J will release their eagerly anticipated second album, This Is All Yours, in the UK on 22 September via Infectious Music in CD, digital and double-vinyl editions. Described as “an assured and strange album from a highly intriguing and inventive outfit” by MOJO, it features acclaimed singles Every Other Freckle and Hunger Of The Pine, which are both available as an instant grat to those that pre-order the new album. September sees the band embark on their biggest headline tour to date; see altjband.com for details.

About This Is All Yours - The App:

Users must sign in to the app either via their existing Facebook or Spotify accounts or create an account specific to the app. They will then see the distance to their nearest ‘Blast’ area where they can stream the album. The app will count down the distance as they get closer to the streaming location, there will also be a specially designed map to help direct them to the area. As soon as a user steps into the area the tracks from the full album will appear on their handset and, as long as they remain within the Blast, they can listen to the album in full. At any time fans can create their own messages to share with other people with the app in their area. They can also share the experience via Facebook and Twitter.
