Following a tide of good feeling for Nas last year, this time around we are handing over the baton to a different legend of US hip-hop to win over the adoring crowds of the Plaine de la Machine à Feu: Ms. Lauryn Hill. She is as well known solo as she is for her work with Fugees, and can truly be called an undisputed queen of the genre. In other hip-hop, we will have the French artists Youssoupha, Big Freedia, J Rocc and Your Old Droog bringing their fresh style to the line-up.
In drum’n’bass get ready for a field day: Pendulum dj set & Verse, Dj Fresh, Noisia, Calyx & Teebee feat. LX One, Joe Ford and The Prototypes feat. MC Felon have been added to the line-up. They join other fresh arrivals Dope D.O.D, Carnage, Vandal and the crazy Russians of Little Big.
In rock, we will welcome the guitars of The Wombats, Mø, Carl Barât and The Jackals, Sunn O))), Drenge, Circa Waves, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Palma Violets. For something a little softer we have employed CocoRosie, Timber Timbre, Isaac Delusion, Moon Duo, Nicolas Michaux, Raketkanon and Rangleklods to flesh out the indie line-up.
As for electronica, get your dancing shoes on because we have, from Berlin, Marcel Dettmann, Rødhåd and Recondite. From France, Joris Delacroix dj set, Alesia, Joachim Pastor and Claude (aka Fulgeance) live. And from the UK, George FitzGerald. From diverse places featuring diverse sounds, we will also have: Evian Christ, FKJ, Kiasmos, Dream Koala, Superpoze live, Seven Davis Jr, The Geek x Vrv.
Enfin. We are also extremely pleased to welcome Batida, Alo Wala and Fatima & The Eglo band. If that’s enough to make your head spin, don’t panic, it’s normal. Just let it sink in, then get ready for a fresh assault – we still have more to come!
